Its so easy to shrug off an artist that you are not familiar with. "I've never heard of them." Chances are,
you've never heard of 90% or more of the great musical talent that is roaming around Canada! Yet often, they are more talented than those who have "made it". So, do go and have a listen to any of these hard-working, talented artists and peruse their sites. You'll be glad you did!
We've been busy lining up a few concerts as you'll see below.
The first CITB will be Monday, October 27th at 7:00pm. Always a favourite (this is his third appearance with us), Brock Zeman and his right hand man, Dan Walsh will be in town. Zeman, whose raspy voice often sings of the harder, darker side of people and life, lightens the mood in between tunes with his story-telling and sharp sense of humour. If you have not had the opportunity to see Brock and the boys, you'll want to come to this concert. If you have, we'll see you there!
Monday, November 24th, we've sort of handed the second band - two bands actually - over to Maratho
n High School as a fundraiser for them. We really liked the sound of The Bicycles and Hooded Fang but thought that they seemed like something that should belong to the youth in town. To be held at the high school, we're not sure if it will be a student-only function or open to the public. Stay tuned!
On Monday, December 8th, Cat Jahnke will be performing. She put out a lovely Christmas album last winter and, while busy touring, it completely sold out in less than a month and a half. This concert will have some songs from that album but mainly, it'll be work from other albums with a "little" bit of Christmas too! I like what Cam Fuller, a writer with the Saskatoon Star Phoenix said, "Her voice is as clear as a minus 30 C January day on the Prairies...”. I think you'll agree and want to hear more!
As always, we'll keep you updated. Hope to see you out this fall and winter! And with new folks moving to town all the time, please do forward this website on to anyone you think may be interested!
